New USB graphics card with DVI/HDMI

Well, needless to introduce the system, everyone knows these graphics cards that are plugged into the USB 2.0 of the computer with an extra screen output.

Now I’d like to know if it’s worth, I remain skeptical about the response time, and I dare not imagine a video game or even a simple video to go through this device. If some of you have opinions on the matter…

In short, Thanko offers the USBHDMIA3, which will display an image up to Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080 pixels) on a screen or TV, for a price of 9,800 yen (€75). There are still cheaper, in the most recognized manufacturers such as Buffalo or Logitec (not to be confused with Logitech, which in Japan is called Logicool).

New AV Bank PMP from Thanko

Thanko has just released its new AV Bank portable media player, which has a 7-inch display (800 x 480 pixels) with a capacity of 8GB expandable via a microSD slot, an FM tuner, a speaker, an HDMI output, compatibility with AVI, MPEG, FLV, MP4, MOV, PMP, DAT, VOB, RM, RMVB, all in 112 x 195 x 16 mm and 350g. Price: $180.

USB hot gloves from Thanko

Thanko seems determined to renew its full range of winter gadgets. And now it’s USB heated mittens in these versions: for male / neutral (USGLOM09) and female (USGLOM20).

Ideal for not clutching fingers when using the computer in the middle of winter in a poorly insulated Japanese house (or a company wanting to save on heating).

AV Bank: cheap PMP from Thanko

The AV Bank or ATLMP44G is the new portable media player from Thanko. This PMP without real claims is not here to shine on both these specifications, but for a price of 6,980 yen (€52), we have a nice product with a 4.3-inch display (480 × 272 pixels), 4GB of internal memory, a microSD/SDHC memory card reader (8GB max) and of course the ability to play AVI video files (DivX)/FLV/3GP/RM/RMVB and audio formats WMA (64 ~ 320kbps) and MP3, with in bonus a JPEG photo player. You can easily connect it to your PC (Windows XP/Vista/7) with USB 2.0 and will not take too much space in your pocket with 74 × 126 × 13mm for 130g. The standby time of the battery is about 6 hours in audio and 4 hours in video.
