After approximately 3 months of testing in the sandbox, Google is preparing to launch the latest large gradually update of its algorithm. Announced in August, Google Caffeine is supposed to boost the search engine performance both in terms of indexing and relevance. The sandbox which allowed the test results of the new algorithm has been closed since a few days and now displays approximately the following message: “Based on the success we’ve seen, we believe Caffeine is ready for a larger audience. Soon we will activate Caffeine more widely, beginning with one data center. This sandbox is no longer necessary and has been retired, but we appreciate the testing and positive input that webmasters and publishers have given.”
Before yesterday, Matt Cutts also returned on Caffeine, stating that currently only one data center would be affected by the new update and the new algorithm would spread to other data centers after the holidays to not interfere with the Webmaster of this period of the year. Thanksgiving this year will be at November 26, so we can expect a formal launch of Caffeine in early December.
