How to eject a PS3 game after a failure

ps3-s-After a “YLOD” (yellow light of dead), your PS3 is blocked, but also the game CD in the drive. This procedure shows how to eject it.
The green light in front is lit during the procedure.

Note: This procedure does not work on PS3 60GB

  • Turn off the PS3 with the switch on the back.
  • Put your finger on the front touch eject button.
  • While keeping your finger on it, turn on the PS3 with the switch on the back.
  • Keep this position for 10 to 30 seconds. During this time, the fan will sound louder than usual.
  • Your CD should be ejected.

Facebook for PS3 on Thursday

For those who can not do without Facebook: window permanently open on the computer desktop, with the iPhone Facebook app that runs in the background, here’s good news. Facebook on PS3 will make its debut this Thursday with the release of the new updated firmware 3.10. This is a step in the integration with Facebook, and the next update should include new features in this area.

Sony Launches PS3 Firmware 3.0

Sony has released its updated firmware 3.0 for the PS3. The new version brings significant changes to the user interface to allow downloads of the PlayStation Store, and be familiar with the “What’s New”.

Other notable additions are animated backgrounds with matching avatars, a status bar at the top right now shows the new messages and online friends, and new features for trophies. Europeans should now access the video service from Sony.

The update is free and should work with the two former models, and the slim version of 120GB.
