Skype is now available for Nokia smartphones via Ovi Store

More than 20,000 applications on the Android Market

Although the Android Market is still far from being so provided that the App Store of Apple, the store the Google OS starts to fill up well and has just surpassed the 20,000 applications available! Most applications are still free (62%), but paid applications starts to come more and more (38%).

People who use BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 will be pleased to learn that the software had its first update of a size of 2.5 MB, and the name of BlackBerry Messenger 5.0.0.55. At first glance it seems that there is no new functionality, but it should have been optimized, which should improve the performance of the app. Users who have installed the update can enjoy previews of images and menus reorganized more logically.

How to update your BlackBerry OS

language_deleteIt’s really important to keep your BlackBerry OS up to date to have the latest improvements and features that are provided with the latest versions. Here’s how to update your BlackBerry OS.

  • First, navigate to the BlackBerryForums.com website
  • Then choose your carrier.
  • Choose your BlackBerry smartphone. You can click the link “What does it include” for T-Mobile to view the update improvements. For Verizon Wireless, you will be informed of the latest update, but you can’t know what’s included with the update.
  • Download the software from the carrier and save it to your desktop.
  • Run the install file.
  • Connect your BlackBerry smartphone to your computer via USB. BlackBerry Desktop Manager will inform you that Application Updates are Available.
  • Click Update Now.
  • Finally select only the components you want to update/install. If you don’t use applications like AIM or you don’t need Spanish language support, you can deselect these options to save space.

Pac-Man Championship Edition for iPhone

500x_500x_pacphonePac-Man Championship Edition is a game originally developed for the XBox Live, and it was a success due to the success of the original legend.

The mobile game is now available on the iPhone of Apple, but not for the Zune. I don’t understand why they chose the widescreen format for the mobile game when the original Pac-Man had a screen that was taller than it was wide.

This new application for Apple iPhone created by the GorillPod staff is GorillaCam and is free of charge, even for users that don’t own an actual GorillaPod. For the features of this app, they are, creating grid lines, a self-timer, and a press-anywhere button – all of them useful if you want to take a photo while using the GorillaPod.

Opera Mobile on Android soon

For now, it is possible to download the Opera Mini on Android Market, but for soon, Opera announced that its Opera Mobile browser will be available for Android and even for BREW, Windows Mobile or Symbian S60 operating systems! In fact, a version already exists, but it is reserved for developers and manufacturers. Opera Mobile is a fairly comprehensive browser that includes the Opera Turbo technology. Very promising, we only hope that this release will come quickly.

Google Maps Mobile 3.3 for smartphones under Android

Google has released another update of Google Maps Mobile for its operating system Android. Now users can easily find nearby businesses, through to the feature “What’s nearby”. In addition, there are also Google Labs services that allows to add layers: traffic, satellite, latitude, and transmission lines.

Google Maps Mobile 3.3 is available on Android Market from Google and supports all smartphones under Android Android 1.6/Donut or 2.0/Eclair. Not for smartphones under Android 1.5/Cupcake.
