LG will unveil the world’s thinnest LCD HDTV at CES

LG Display has announced that they have successfully developed the world’s thinnest LCD HDTV panel with a thickness of only 2.6mm. This ultra-thin LCD panel has been made possible thanks to the experience of the firm in “slimming” technology: LED backlight system and movies proprietary optical technology. Imagine a LCD HDTV panel of 42 inches that weighs just 4kg, great for TVs hung on the wall. You will have a refresh technology of 120Hz with full HD resolution. It will be unveiled at CES next January.

BenQ V2210 and V2410 LCD displays introduced

BenQ introduced two new LCD displays with LED backlight, the V2210 and V2410. These new displays will be released on December 25, 2009. The LCD monitors can support a full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 and a brightness of 250cd/m². Additional specifications include an HDMI port and a D-Sub. There is no info for the price.

Acer B243HA 24-inch Full HD LCD monitor

Acer has released a new LCD monitor with the B243HA for Europe. It is a 24-inch monitor that uses TN panel and has a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, a response time of 2ms, a brightness of 300 cd/m², a contrast ratio of 80,000:1 and a viewing angle of 176/176 degrees. The display also has D-Sub and DVI ports. The Acer B243HA LCD monitor is available in Europe for a price of €249 ($366).

LG SL8000 Borderless LCD HDTV in Russia

LG announced the availability of its latest SL8000 Borderless LCD HDTV for the Russian market. The SL8000 HDTV has a unique single-layer screen, in which the TV screen and frame are in one piece, so it is borderless. This new LCD HDTV provides Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), a dynamic contrast ratio of 150,000:1 and a response time of 2ms. It has also technologies including TruMotion 200GHz of LG for reducing the blur of moving objects, the Smart Energy Saving Plus technology for reducing electricity consumption and Intelligent Sensor technology for automatically adjusting the image and the intensity of the backlight under the lighting conditions. The SL8000 42-inch LCD HDTV model is available in Russia for a price of 61,990 rubles, or about $2,113.

DX Antenna introduces a new 19-inch LCD TV, the LVW-193

DX Antenna today introduced its latest LCD TV of 19″, the LVW-193. Available during December at a price of 40,000 yen or 299 euros, this new TV has a contrast ratio of 800:1 and a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, a brightness of 300cd/m², a response time of 5ms, and an angle of vision of 170°.
For other features, the Japanese manufacturer announced an HDMI port, a D4 port, speakers of 2Wx2ch, and of course a digital TV tuner.

Eco-friendly LCD monitor from ViewSonic

ViewSonic has released a brand new eco-friendly LCD monitor, the VA705b, showing a diagonal of 17″ (native resolution of 1280 × 1024 pixels), a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, a response time of 5ms and a brightness of 250 cd/m². On top of that, the monitor consumes 21W in use. Price: $149.

Full HD 3D LCD monitor from LG

LG has announced the first Full HD 3D LCD monitor! This one of a size of 23″ should be unveiled at CES in January (we’ll be there!), To be available sometime in 2010. Note that the special glasses is always necessary to see the 3D and the screen can also display 2D (thankfully). 2010 will be the year of 3D?

BenQ SQ4242 42-inch LCD HDTV

BenQ released a new HDTV with this latest 42-inch Full HD 1080p HDTV, the SQ4242, the HDTV can support a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 24p Real Movie player mode, MPEG noise reduction feature and SRS TruSurround XT surround. This HDTV has three HDMI inputs and has a 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 5,000:1 true contrast ratio.

EIZO announces FlexScan SX2262W 22-inch LCD monitor

The Japanese manufacturer EIZO has announced a new 22-inch LCD monitor, the FlexScan SX2262W. We know already that it will have Vertical Alignment (VA) and will propose a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, a response time of 6ms, contrast ratio of 1000:1, a brightness of 280 cd/m². Similarly, it will cover 95% of the Adobe RGB range and will offer 2 USB ports, DVI and DisplayPort.

Expected release for January 12 in Japan for a price just over $800.

Iiyama releases two new affordable LCD monitors

The manufacturer Iiyama launches two new models of LCD displays. The ProLite E2407HDSD-B1 and E2607WSD-B1, respectively of 24 and 26 inches, will replace at short notice the E2407HDSV-B1 and E2607WSV-B1. They will have in addition, a DVI plus VGA. Supplied with a VGA cable and a DVI cable, the E2407HDSD-B1 was announced at a price of 249 euros and E2607WSD-B1, 349 euros.
