According to various tests on the web, it seems that Windows 7 will reduce considerably the battery life of netbooks compared to Windows XP. Thus, the battery life of the Toshiba mini NB205 goes from 9:24 with XP to 8:51 with 7. Same punishment with the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA: battery life of 5:40 under XP, 4:43 under 7. Finally, with an HP Mini 311, it’s 5:43 of battery life under XP, and 4:52 under Windows 7.
Note that the tests were performed using the netbook in a continuous surfing the net via Wi-Fi.
