Acer has announced it will soon launch new laptops running under Windows 7. including its first multi-touch 15.6-inch laptop, the Aspire AS5738PG. At the same time, Acer will update its Timeline Series laptops with dual-core CULV processors and the new Microsoft OS.
In addition to a screen that supports new touch features of Windows, the AS5738PG laptop (image below) will work with the Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz, 4GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive. The graphics processing is handled by an ATI Radeon HD 4570 512MB. You’ll find an HDMI port, 4 USB ports, a webcam, two speakers and a Dolby-compatible DVD burner. The laptop weighs only 2.7kg with the 6-cell battery.

The new Aspire Timeline AS1810T-8679 laptop computer include a 11.6-inch screen, and a new generation of CPU 1.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, and a Intel 4500MHD integrated graphics controller. It also has 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a webcam, a multi-card reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and HDMI, and three USB ports. With a 6-cell battery, the computer weighs only 1.4kg. Although the screen is conventional, it supports multi-touch on the trackpad.
The Aspire Timeline AS3810T-8737 laptop has a 13.3-inch screen and keeps the same resolution. Other specifications are the same as the above model, but with a 500GB hard drive and a webcam with a better resolution. The weight is slightly higher, 1.6 kg. The AS4810TZ-4508 laptop computer has a 14-inch screen and similar specifications except its hard drive of 320GB et weighing 2kg.
The AS5810TZ-4784 laptop computer has a 15.6-inch screen with the same 1366×768 LED backlight, 4 USB ports, and the same specifications as the other Timeline laptop. The weight is 2.4kg.
The Acer Aspire 5738PG laptop will be available in blue, and should be released at October 22, to coincide with the official release of Windows 7. Price: It would be at $800. All new Aspire laptops have Windows 7 Home Premium. The AS1810T-8679 will cost $600 and AS3810T-8737 will be at $800, while the AS4810TZ-4508 and AS5810TZ-4784 will be at $650.
