In the list of new features that were promised by the manufacturer NEC by the end of the year is high on the MultiSync EA222WMe monitor. This is not a real novelty since it is neither more nor less than the reissue of the model EA221WM, presented a few months ago. This new version – which most of the technical specifications remain unchanged – adopt now (and for the first time for NEC) a backlight with LED, both more efficient and less power consumption that thand the CCFL system (Neon tube with cold cathode) of its predecessor. According to the manufacturer, it would save energy by almost 50%, while ensuring a better distribution of light and better color rendition and contrast. The NEC MultiSync EA222WMe display will be available in December 2009. Its price is not fixed yet, but it will be probably between €250 and €300.
