Skype is now available for Nokia smartphones via Ovi Store

Skype is certainly one of the most popular services on the Internet, and almost everyone uses regularly. Nokia has announced the launch of Skype for Symbian. This application is available for free now from the Ovi Store.

Flash for the iPhone via Gordon

Officially, there is no Flash for the iPhone, but there may be a way to have it, thanks to clever developers. The Gordon open source project provided a JavaScript Flash runtime, allowing you to load and view Flash files (.swf), even on the Safari Mobile browser of the iPhone. It is still a “preliminary” build and there are still many things to solve, but it’s a good start.

Mandriva launches InstantOn, an OS that boots in 10 seconds

Why load Windows or other complex operating systems when you just want to send an email or surf the Web a few moments? With a simplified interface than enough for some uses, many manufacturers incorporate into their laptops and motherboards small operating systems that load only a few essential softwares and thus provide an immediate access, or almost, to Internet. Mandriva released its InstantOn, a mini operating system based on Mandriva 2010, which allows to connect in less than ten seconds to Firefox and Thunderbird.

Download Winamp 5.57 media player

Between iTunes and Songbird, we have almost forgotten the “ancestor” Winamp, yet still as effective, and it’ available now in version 5.57. It should be noted, therefore the ability to view directly the lyrics of the song that is currently listening, to reserve tickets for the next concert of yout favorite band, to create an ID for linking accounts of Winamp, AOL, Google, Yahoo, Facebook and OpenID or using drag and drop more naturally. More than 20,000 applications on the Android Market

Although the Android Market is still far from being so provided that the App Store of Apple, the store the Google OS starts to fill up well and has just surpassed the 20,000 applications available! Most applications are still free (62%), but paid applications starts to come more and more (38%).
