The Audi A8 car offers EDGE and Google Earth

December 17th, 2009 | Posted in Cars, GPS | No Comments »

Today, GPS is common in high-end cars, but what about Google Earth? Well, Audi will offer the option of an integrated navigation system for their 2011 model which will include Google Earth and a GPRS/EDGE modem. It would have been much nicer to have 3G, but as we don’t see Google Earth in cars every day, this is certainly not the end of the world. It is unclear to what extent this will affect the unit price of the new A8, but you will note that it may be unavailable at the launch of the car, as Audi says it would be for mid-2010. According to rumors, there would be a UMTS modem available for mid-2010, so keep that in mind for this date.

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Concept

November 21st, 2009 | Posted in Cars | No Comments »

Those who have seen “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” have admired the beauty and the sublime car, at least I hope the new star of the film. A prototype designed by Chevrolet for the shooting. The DNA of the Corvette Stingray, which went through 5 decades with panache, is omnipresent. The long hood, fenders and rear curved steep. The fund earns from the prototype but in power and intensity. The detail that kills, the logo of the prototype, a manta ray symbol of grace and elegance. For Chevy, perhaps the inspiration for the future C7…?
